Rastan substation put into service after rehabilitation at a cost of 3 billion pounds

At a cost of 3 billion Syrian pounds, the Ministry of Electricity has today set up Al-Rastan 66-20 KV transformer station. The station is back to service in the northern countryside of Homs after it was completely rehabilitated. The station went out of service in 2013 after it was destroyed and sabotaged by terrorism.

The Minister of Electricity, Engineer Ghassan Al-Zamil, indicated in a statement to reporters that the rehabilitation of the Rastan substation, which was carried out by national cadres at a cost of 3 billion Syrian pounds, is part of a plan set by the ministry to rehabilitate what was destroyed by terrorism.

Al-Zamil indicated that the ministry has many projects of work, including the Aleppo thermal station, which will be put into service soon, and Latakia power station, which will be put into service at the end of this year, in addition to securing electric power to feed wells and water pumping stations.

Al-Zamil pointed to the great difficulties facing the electricity sector as a result of the practices of the SDF militia backed by the US occupation in the Syrian Al-Jazirah region, which is considered a real reservoir of oil derivatives.

The Governor of Homs, Engineer Bassam Parsik, indicated that the return of these stations and their introduction into service will contribute to improving the status and stability of the electrical network in its areas of existence and neighboring areas, and soon electricity will return to the Sukhna area.
