Hama, (ST) – During the first five months of this year, the General Company for the Wool and Carpet Industry in Hama achieved sales of one billion and 35 million Syrian pounds.

The company’s general manager, Hisham Al-Abdullah, told SANA that sales included 33 tons of woolen yarn and 11,022 square meters of woolen carpets produced by carpet factories in Hama, Damascus and Sweida. He pointed out that the company worked on developing the productivity of woolen yarns and improving the performance of the German line in the Hama wool factory by supplying it. Bales have been modified to raise the quality of the produced yarns.

Al-Abdullah said that despite the company’s suffering from a shortage of manpower and diesel fuel and the reduction of work to one shift, the company’s cadres, technicians and workers are making every possible effort to ensure the continuity and development of the production process in quantity and quality.
