European Parliament: Sanctions against Russia are dragging the European Union into an economic disaster

Paris(ST): Member of the European Parliament, French MP Thierry Mariani, stressed that the sanctions policy imposed by European countries on Russia negatively affects its economies and drags it into disaster.

The Russian TASS news agency quoted Mariani as saying during discussions on the draft resolution on EU policies in the field of international relations and security against the backdrop of the conflict in Ukraine:  “I think that you are dragging us towards an economic and geopolitical catastrophe through the policy of sanctions that no one wants to adhere to outside the West,”. “You always demand a multilateral stance, but you establish a system that imposes restrictions on our relations with anyone other than the United States.”

Mariani pointed out that solidarity with the Ukrainian people should not obscure our reality,” considering that the European Union’s policies endanger European countries.
