Zakharova: Banning Lavrov’s plane from flying over 3 countries is immature

Moscow (ST): Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova described the ban on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s plane over the airspace of 3 European countries to Serbia as a “immature measure to demonstrate the unity of Europe.”

Russia Today website quoted Zakharova as saying in a statement today, “The refusal to fly is not about us, but about Europe. They are only trying to show unity in this really primitive and strange way,” stressing that “it is impossible to cut off communications between Russia and the rest of the countries. Cooperation continues, including  with the countries of the Middle East and Asia.”

Zakharova added: “The Russian delegation was supposed to arrive in Belgrade.
