International Efforts to Fight Terrorism Should Be Unified: PA Speaker

DAMASCUS- International efforts to fight terrorism and rid humanity of its extremist and bloody thinking should be unified, underscored Speaker of the People’s Assembly (PA)  Moammad Jihad al-Lahham.

Meeting a delegation representing the Syrian community in Italy which also comprises a number of Italian political activists, al-Lahham stressed that the countries which sponsor and finance terrorism must uncovered.

“Syria has been exposed to international organized terrorism by armed takfiri groups backed by world imperialist and Western colonialist states in order to distract Syria from its national track which supports resistance and just Arab causes,” the PA Speaker said.

He urged freedom-loving peoples to convince their governments to fight the terrorist takfiri thinking, prevent terrorists from persisting in their criminal acts and not to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.

He affirmed that Syria will continue to be the home of peace, tolerance amity and moderate Islam.

For their part, members of the delegation voiced their support to the Syrian people in the confrontation of the American and Western threats which target their homeland.

They stressed that the US and Western war on Syria aims at guaranteeing Israel’s security and dominating the region’s resources.
