Foreign Ministry: Turkish regime’s threats violate the international law, Syria’s territorial integrity
Syria has stressed that the Turkish regime’s continuous threats constitute a blatant violation of the international law and the territorial integrity of Syria and they contradict the results and agreements reached at Astana meetings on Syria.
A source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement to SANA on Saturday that the Syrian Arab Republic follows up on the Turkish regime’s aggressive statements about establishing a so-called “safe zone in the north of Syria” and on the repeated Turkish attacks on Syrian territories which claimed the lives of many innocent citizens.
These aggressive Turkish threats constitute a blatant violation of the international law as well as of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, the source affirmed.
These threats also violate the agreements reached within the framework of Astana process on Syria, expose the region’s peace and security to danger and undermine all the understandings reached under international auspices regarding the “de-escalation zones” lines.
