NAM : Aggression on Syria a Flagrant Violation of International Law, UN Charter

NEWYORK,(ST)_  The Coordination Office of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) at the United Nations in New York  condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli aggression at  Jamraya  scientific research center in  Rural Damascus and called on the UN Security Council to shoulder its responsibilities and condemn this act of aggression clearly.
A  statement circulated by the office on Tuesday read : ” NAM  Coordination  Office condemns  in the strongest possible terms the act of aggression committed by Israel against the Syrian Arab Republic on Wednesday, 30/1/2013, when the  Israeli warplanes violated Syria ‘s airspace and directly bombed Jamraya  scientific research center in rural Damascus.  This attack resulted in the killing of two  Syrian civilians and wounding five others , besides  heavy material damages and complete destruction of the building. “
“This act constitutes a dangerous violation of the international law because it is an aggression against  the  Syrian sovereignty, as it constitutes a flagrant violation of the principles of the UN Charter  and the UN  Convention on Disengagement  of Forces  of 1974.” the statement stressed.
It added that : “At a time  as NAM Coordination Office  voices  Solidarity with Syria and holds Israel responsible for this act of aggression and its consequences, it calls on  the  UN Security Council to shoulder its responsibilities and condemn this act of aggression clearly,” the statement added.
