Syrian Arab army vanquishes terrorists from new area outside Damascus, raids hideouts in 4 provinces

PROVINCES,(ST)_Heavy gun-battles have remained unrelenting on all fronts, as units of the armed forces made a progress in  southern Damascus countryside, media reports have said.

The Syrian TV channel said on Wednesday that the armed forces controlled part of al-Sharqatli quarter in al-Sbeneh town to the south of Damascus countryside a day after they tightened control over al-Shorta quarter and Saed Bin Mo’az” Mosque in the same area.

It added that a ringleader and many gangsters were extirpated near “Saed” tomato paste factory in al-Sbeneh area and in Hajjira, Darayya and al-Moaddameyeh areas outside Damascus.

More terrorists were hammered to the east of Tishreen Hospital in Barzeh quarter and in Zamalka and Erbin suburbs, according to an official source.

15 mines found in Harasta suburb

The source confirmed that the armed forces found 15 mines and several explosion devices inside a hideout in Harasta suburb and pounded an arms depot in al-Eb farms in Doma suburb where many terrorists were crushed.

However, in al-Nabk, Ma’alola, and Yabroud areas outside Damascus, a host of al-Nusra Front-affiliates were reportedly eliminated when the armed forces raided their hideouts there. 

Terrorists from “al-Tawhed “brigade killed

The armed forces, in addition, shelled hideouts and groupings of terrorists in towns of al-Ghasebeyeh, Kesin, Basatin Zara, al-Rastan, al-Hesn, Ma’asaret al-Zaiton, and al-Sa’en and in quarters of Bab Hod and Bab Sba’a in  central Homs province.

The death toll of terrorists in the shelling wasn’t reported but it was said that 10 terrorists from the so-called “al-Tawhed “brigade were among the dead in Ghasebeyeh town.

Infiltration attempts

Around 193km to the north of Homs, precisely in  northern Aleppo province, the armed forces warded off terrorists’ bids to infiltrate into Khan al-Harir area in the old city and into Hanano barrack.

They also destroyed rocket launchers and heavy machine guns used by al-Nusra Front in more than 14 areas in Aleppo city and countryside.

In Daraa and Quneitra

Elsewhere, the armed forces bombarded terrorists’ hideouts and groupings in towns of al-Na’emeh, al-Harra, Nawa and the western al-Mleha outside Daraa province and in towns of al-Breqa, al-Bassara, al-Abdali, and al-Bakkar outside al-Quneitra province.

Explosions kill terrorists

An unknown number of terrorists perished in the said areas, while dozens of them died in a rocket blast as they were trying to launch it from a hideout in Ein Husain town outside Homs.

Other 40 terrorists also died in an explosion  as they were booby trapping a car in Ma’adan area in Der Ezzour province, alikhabaria al-Soreyeh TV channel said.
