Lavrov to Indonesian Counterpart: No Alternative for Starting Unconditional Dialogue in Syria

MOSCOW, (ST) – Sergi Lavrov, Russia’s Foreign Minister has underlined the need to work with all Syrian parties so as to solve the ongoing Syrian crisis.

During a phone call with his Indonesian counterpart Marty Natalegawa, Lavrov reiterated that “there is no alternative for working with all Syrian parties to immediately halt violence and launch an all-out Syrian dialogue without preconditions.

The Russian Foreign Ministry, which pointed out that the phone call was made by the Indonesian side, said that the two officials discussed methods of enhancing cooperation and exchanged views on urgent issues listed on the international agenda with the situation in Syria at the top. They focused on ways to attain a diplomatic and political settlement to the crisis.
