Patriarch al-Ra’i calls for halting violence in Syria

BEIRUT,(ST)-The Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bishara al-Ra’i called on all people to pray for achieving peace in Syria and the region. The Patriarch underlined the necessity  to take the necessary preservative measures for not allowing  the issue of hosting the Syrian displaced a time- bomb at the security, political, social and economic levels.

During Sunday service , the Patriarch held all interior and exterior parties who fuel violence in Syria responsible for what happened to the Syrian displaced, calling for putting an end to violence and to finding the peaceful solutions to the crisis.

The Patriarch pointed out that the church is committed by helping our Syrian brothers through its social institutions.       

Al-Ra’i also called on the Lebanese political officials and public sector workers to hardly work in political action to be free in taking right decisions ,stances and exert  every possible  effort to attain  beneficence and justice.
