Syrian Arab army goes ahead with defeating terrorists in al-Ghouta battle

PROVINCES,(ST)_The Ghouta battle in Damascus countryside is reportedly a preemptive tactic that aims at protecting the country’s capital [Damascus] from the foreign-backed terrorists who have wreaked havoc in all areas they entered.

The fact that all the shells which target residential areas in Damascus are being fired by terrorists from the Ghouta could summarize the importance of the ongoing decisive operation there.

Since August 21st , the armed forces have started a large-scale operation against terrorists in Damascus countryside where dozens of al-Nusra Front-affiliates have been killed and big quantity of weapons was destroyed.

Today’s reports on the latest developments on the ground confirmed that many terrorists, some of Jordanian and Iraqi nationalities- were hammered as the armed forces bombarded their hideouts in areas of Barzeh, Harasta, Doma, al-Hseneyeh Hajjira, al-Sbeneh, and Darayya on the outskirts of Damascus.

Reports also talked about a clash between an army unit and an armed terrorist group in Jobar quarter- just 3km to the east of Damascus- which ended in mowing down many of the group’s members.

Heavy machine guns destroyed

On the other hand, it was said that the armed forces wiped out several terrorist groupings, a rocket launcher and heavy machine guns in quarters of Bab Hod and Joret al-Shayyah in Homs city and in areas of al-Rastan, Talso, al-Sa’en outside the city.

More terrorists were crushed outside Aleppo, Hama, al-Hassaka and Idlib provinces in today’s operations.

A missile attack kills 3 citizens in Hama

In a separate incident, a missile attack on al-Sqelbeyeh city outside Hama left three citizens martyred and 4 others wounded in addition to serious damages to citizens’ homes and shops at the scene.

An official source made it clear that the armed terrorist groups in towns of al-Hamameyat and al-Hbit fired the missiles on al-Sqelbeyeh city.
