Iran’s top negotiator Saeed Jalili lashed out at the US for its double-standard policies towards the world nations, and called on Washington to respect the other nations.
The US is working against Syria imposing economic sanction on it and has flooded arms into the country and supports terrorists.
They (Americans) must stop dual attitudes and respect rationality and wisdom of nations. World people are well monitoring the US attitudes,” Jalili, who is in New Delhi for an official visit, said in a press conference in the Indian capital city on Friday, acoording to FNA.
He noted that the US attitude has led to the highest level of public hatred in countries from East Asia to the Horn of Africa, and stated, “The Americans need to make a real change in their policies,”
The senior Iranian security official also said that the US acted in full contradiction to its claims about democracy in its foreign policy, and said that he US made its utmost efforts to counter democracy in Iran and used its utmost capacity to impede the progress of this democracy.
Jalili noted that the US double-standard policies have not been limited only to Iran.
Washington and its Western allies accuse Iran of trying to develop nuclear weapons under the cover of a civilian nuclear program, while they have never presented any corroborative evidence to substantiate their allegations. Iran denies the charges and insists that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only.
The Vienna-based UN nuclear watchdog continues snap inspections of Iranian nuclear sites and has reported that all declared nuclear material in Iran has been accounted for, and therefore such material is not diverted to prohibited activities.
Iran, a Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT)-signatory, has also repeatedly called for the removal of all weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons, from across the globe.
Israel, the Middle East’s sole nuclear power, possesses hundreds of nuclear warheads while it is not a signatory to the NPT or any other international convention.
The Zionist regime has never allowed UN inspectors to visit its nuclear sites or arsenals.
