PROVINCES,(ST)_ Most areas on the outskirts of Damascus still witness strikes targeting foreign-backed terrorists, as several rocket launchers have been extirpated in Aleppo and Hama provinces.
Today, the armed forces eliminated a host of armed terrorist groups, mostly from the so-called “Islam” brigade and imposed control over Zamalka junction and further discovered a conduit tunnel in al-Qabon quarter.
They also shelled several rockets and mortars and killed many ringleaders and large numbers of gangsters in Barzeh, Harasta, Jobar, Ein Tarma, al-Hseneyeh, al-Dyabeyeh, al-Mleha, Der Salman and al-Bahhareyeh areas outside Damascus.
In addition, a clash raged between an army unit and a terrorist group in Adra area which resulted in mowing down a ringleader and gangsters.
These events come a day after discovering a storehouse used by terrorists comprising toxic chemical substances made in Saudi Arabia and Turkey in Jobar suburb, just 3 km to the east of Damascus.
Seized weapons
However, in central Homs province, an official source declared that big quantity of weapons and ammunitions were found yesterday inside a car belonging to the so-called “al-Tawhid” brigade on Homs-Palmyra road.
It added that the seized weapons and ammunitions contained 5 P21 missiles, 5 local-made missiles, 136 rifles, 13 machine guns, 5 PKC machine guns, 400kg explosives, big quantity of TNT, 121 mortar shells, 25 RPGs, along with Saudi and Libyan medicines.
The source noted that the armed forces pounded several hideouts of terrorists in quarters of Bab Hod and al-Qosor in Homs and in towns of al-Sa’en, al-Hesn. Al-Dar al-Kaber, al-Rastan and Talbiseh.
Clashes in Aleppo
At the same time, it was reported that the armed forces clashed with terrorist groups who tried to sneak into safe areas in Salaheddin, al-Swiqa and al-Zahrawi, al-Aqaba quarters in northern Aleppo countryside.
The death toll of terrorists in the clashes wasn’t reported.
A military source told SANA that the armed forces also targeted weapons-loaded cars and weapons in several areas in east southern, western, and west northern countryside.
Further weapons of al-Nusra Front- affiliates were destroyed in al-Ghab area in Hama province where a number of terrorists were nabbed when the armed forces stormed a hideout in Jebrin town.
Hama Governor assassinated
In a separate incident, terrorists assassinated Hama Governor, Dr. Anas Abdulrazzaq Naem, through blasting a car bomb as he was passing in al-Jarajmeh quarter in Hama city.
As many as 7 citizens including 3 children were wounded in the blast.
Shells hit al-Zablatani
Other four citizens including a child were wounded by a mortar attack targeted al-Zablatani residential area
A Police Command source said that four mortar shells landed today in al-Zablatani area leaving 4 citizens wounded and serious damages at the scene.
