OSPAAAL calls for enhancing solidarity with Syria, rejects intervention in Syrian Affair

HAVANA- The Havana-based Organization of Solidarity with the Peoples of Asia, Africa and Latin America (OSPAAAL), has called for an immediate stopping of the massacres being committed by armed terrorist groups against the Syrian people.

During a solidarity event held in coordination with the Syrian Embassy in the Cuban capital of Havana, OSPAAAL expressed full support for Syria in her confrontation of the imperialism and Zionism-led vicious terrorist campaign targeting the Syrian State. It rejected foreign intervention in the Syrian internal affairs and called for respecting the Syrian people’s legitimate rights.

Angel Piano, Chief of the Advertisement Department in the Organization stressed that Syria is the symbol of resistance and struggle against imperialist and Zionist hegemony plans in the region, condemning Western and some Arab countries’ support for sending terrorist groups to kill the Syrian people.

For his part, Chief of the Syrian diplomatic mission, Ghassan Haidar, explained the conspiracy hatched against Syria and thanked the Cuban government and people for their support.

He cited the huge damage caused to the Syrian State’s infrastructure and properties by the armed terrorist groups and highlighted Western media’s role in falsifying facts and fueling sectarianism.

Haider said “Syria is facing a new attempt to revive “Sykes-Picot” accords which had led to creating the Zionist entity in the region.

Concluding his statement, Haidar expressed Syria’s solidarity with Cuba in confrontation of the unjust American siege, and with the families of the five Cubans imprisoned in the U.S.

He stressed that Syria’s victory in the current war is a victory for all freedom and peace-loving countries.
