Syrian-DPRK Joint Committee for Enhancing Multi-Faceted Relations

 

 

 

PYONGYANG, (ST)_ Syrian and Democratic Popular Republic of Korea officials, meeting on Pyongyang on  Wednesday   agreed on  finalization of  ten memoranda of understanding and executive programs in the fields of media, free zones, communication, agriculture, industry, environment , housing and agriculture between the two countries.

 They also agreed on increasing   bilateral trade  volume  and exporting  Syrian food, textile and chemical  products to the DPRK  markets.

The two sides discussed prospects for cooperation in the fields of scientific, agricultural and pharmaceutical researches, railways, oil and energy, building a thermoelectric station of  1,000 MW capacity   to be  imported from the DPRK .

The officials agreed on the  promotion of  bilateral relations in the field of media, radio and television and news agencies in the two countries.

Stress was laid on the deep  Syrian- DPRK  strategic relations and the two countries principled stand  in rejecting  the US imperialist conspiracy which seeks to undermine Syria, through supporting terrorist groups smuggled from neighboring and regional countries, backing them with money and weapons.

During his meeting with the Minister of Culture, the DPRK of Foreign Minister expressed full confidence  that Syria will defeat the conspiracy targeting its stands that reject western schemes against the region.

Worthy mentioning that meetings of the Syrian-DPRK joint  8th session led by the Minister of Culture  Dr. Lubana Mshawe’  started yesterday in Pyongyang.

The Syrian delegation comprised officials representing the ministry of foreign affairs and expatriates, the state planning commission and experts concerned from the ministries of information, industry, agriculture and telecommunications.
