40 companies participate in the 2nd International Exhibition of Shipping and Customs Clearance

Damascus (ST): With the participation of about forty companies, the activities of the second International Exhibition of Shipping and Customs Clearance “Cargosier” kicked off in its second session, on the fairgrounds of the exhibition city in Damascus.

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Ammar Kamal El-Din, said in a statement to reporters that the exhibition is an opportunity for land, sea, air, technical and logistical companies to meet.

Kamal El-Din pointed out that the Damascus-Aleppo train is ready and will start soon after completing some technical works and securing the necessary labor for it and the fees for transporting goods according to the popular prices, explaining that the rise in freight fees from Syrian ports is due to the high fees imposed on goods abroad.

In turn, the head of the Federation of International Freight Companies in Syria, Saleh Kishore, indicated that Syria provides all facilities for the Arab trucks and has introduced it in all circumstances, explaining that there are 21,000 Syrian trucks and 5,000 refrigerators operating on external lines, all of which are deprived of work, pointing out that the Ministry of Transport follows all means and addresses all countries demand equal treatment.

For his part, the head of the Syrian Association for National Shipping and Logistics, Riyad Al-Serafi, indicated that the association organizes the number of offices and provides data with the association and the union to identify workers and those who are suspended from work and what services can be provided and to know the obstacles facing the offices, pointing out that the association constitutes a link between this sector and the Ministry of Transport and has begun implementation of training courses to raise the level of cadres and people of the profession to rise to the international level.
