Moscow (ST): Russia called on the Turkish regime to refrain from causing the situation in Syria to deteriorate, stressing that security on the Syrian-Turkish border can only be guaranteed by the deployment of Syrian forces.

 

Russia Today website stated that Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova described, in a statement posted on the ministry’s website, the recent reports about the Turkish regime’s plans against Syria as “agitating,” adding: “We hope that Ankara will refrain from actions that may lead to a serious deterioration of the difficult situation.” 

Zakharova added that “security on the Syrian-Turkish border can only be guaranteed by the deployment of Syrian security forces.”
