Iranian President: We must confront actions of Zionist entity in the region

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stressed the need to confront the Zionist entity’s moves in the region and prevent its penetration into it.

During a phone call today with his Armenian counterpart, Vahakn Khachaturian, Raisi said that Iran is committed to the necessity of resolving and settling the issues of the region through the exchange of ideas and cooperation among all its countries on the basis of common interests and mutual respect. He pointed out that supporting the territorial integrity and the right of sovereignty for all countries is a principled policy of Iran.

Raisi considered that the ongoing consultations between Tehran and Yerevan are evidence of the depth of bilateral relations, stressing that Iran attaches importance to its neighbor Armenia.

For his part, the Armenian president valued Iran’s principled positions regarding developments in the region and stressed the preservation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of all countries.
