Syria, Russia hold talks on cooperation in diplomatic training

Syria’s Ambassador to Russia Riad Haddad and Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Yakovenko on Wednesday discussed boosting cooperation in the field of bilateral diplomatic training.

Haddad thanked the rector of the Russian academy for the efforts that have been exerted to make the cooperation between the academy and the Diplomatic Institute of the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates a success.

He hailed the high level training and qualification provided by the Russian Academy to diplomatic cadres, noting that the positive results of this training are reflected in the distinguished performance of the Russian diplomacy in the face of the political and media campaigns launched against Russia, particularly on the backdrop of the Russian special military operation to protect Donbass and uproot Nazism from Ukraine.

 On his part, Yakovenko thanked Syria for supporting Russia in the confrontation of the political pressure it is being exposed to, affirming the Russian side’s willingness to cooperate with the Syrian Foreign Ministry to enhance the partnership relation between the two countries.

He expressed the Russian academy’s readiness to bolster cooperation with Syria and exchange visits by the two sides with the aim of upgrading the efficiency of the diplomatic cadres in the service of the interest of the two countries.
