More than 20 thousand people evacuated from Ukraine and Donbas to Russia

Moscow (ST): The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the evacuation of more than 20 thousand residents of Ukraine and Donbas to Russia during the past 24 hours.

Sputnik news agency quoted the head of the National Defense Management Center Mikhail Mizintsev as saying today: “Despite the difficulties and obstacles created by the Kiev authorities, 20,043 people, including 2,886 children, were evacuated to the territory of the Russian Federation from dangerous areas in the Donbas and Ukraine republics.”

Mezintsev noted that since the start of the Russian special military operation to protect Donbas, more than 1.5 million people have been evacuated to Russian territory.
