Ahmadinejad’s Vice President: We Trust Syrian People’s Ability to Surpass Crisis

 TEHRAN- Saeed Lou, the Vice President of former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has affirmed the deeply-rooted and strategic relations linking Syria and Iran.

During his meeting on Monday with Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi in Tehran, Lou said that the Syrian-Iranian ties are growing notably in all domains, stressing a mutual sincere will to boost these ties.

He asserted his trust in the ability of the Syrian people to surpass the crisis and emerge stronger.

The Iranian official condemned the terrorist acts perpetrated by the armed groups against the Syrian people and national economy, hailing the victories attained in Syria at the political, military, economic and national reconciliation levels.

For his part, al-Halqi hailed Iran’s principled stance towards the ongoing events in Syria. He also thanked Lou for the efforts he has exerted to enhance bilateral ties, particularly in the economic area.

Al-Halqi said he is confident that cooperation will continue to be developed on a daily basis thanks to the common will of the two countries.

Talks during the meeting dealt with ways of facilitating the flow of Iranian goods into Syria to activate economy between the two countries and to encourage Iranian businessmen to carry out development projects in Syria.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Presidential Affairs Mansour Azzam, the Cabinet Secretary General Tayseer al-Zou’bi and Syria’s Ambassador to Iran Adnan Mahmoud.

Al-Halqi on Sunday represented Syria at the Constitutional Oath Ceremony of the New Iranian President Hassan Rohani.
