Labor Ministers in Non-Aligned Countries condemn unilateral coercive measures

Geneva, (ST) – The Labor Ministers of the Non-Aligned Countries, in a virtual meeting held within the framework of the 110th session of the International Labor Conference in Geneva with the participation of Syria, adopted a declaration in which they affirmed that unilateral coercive measures endanger all human rights, including the right to development and the right to work.

The declaration included opposition and condemnation of unilateral coercive measures and laws and the continuation of their application, and calling on the countries that implement these measures to cancel them immediately.

The announcement issued by the meeting, with the participation of ministers and representatives of 13 countries, expressed grave concern about human rights violations that the Israeli occupation forces constantly commit against Palestinian and Syrian workers in the occupied Syrian Golan.

The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mohamed Seif El-Din stated that Syria faced and is still facing an unjust terrorist war that sought to sabotage all the economic and social gains of the Syrian people. “Syria could confront this unjust terrorist war with the steadfastness of its army and people”, he added.

Minister Seif El-Din pointed out thatthe this war had turned into an economic one by imposing unjust and unilateral coercive measures on the Syrian people, making it difficult for them to meet their basic needs and achieve their economic and social progress.
