Syria, Iraq to enhance cooperation in the commercial and economic fields

Baghdad, (ST) – The Secretary-General of the Iraqi Council of Ministers, Hamid Naim Al-Ghazi, discussed with the Syrian Ambassador in Baghdad, Sattam Jadaan Al-Dandahmeans to develop bilateral relations between the two countries in the trade, economic and food fields.

The General Secretariat of the Iraqi Council of Ministers said in a statement yesterday that the discussions dealt with frameworks of joint cooperation between Syria and Iraq in the trade and economic fields, as well as the food field, which is one of the most important resources that contribute insupporting the national product of the two countries. He stressed the importance of close historical relations that binds the governments and peoples of the two brotherly countries.

During the talks, the Secretary-General of the Iraqi Council of Ministers pointed out that the two countries are currently witnessing stability after being subjected to a terrorist attack by Takfiri organizations.

For his part, the Syrian ambassador, in a statement to SANA reporter, described the meeting as fruitful and positive, and it dealt with all prospects of cooperation in the field of trade and economic exchange and investing the energies of the two countries in the food sector in the interest of the two brotherly peoples.

Al-Dandah explained that the continuous Syrian-Iraqi cooperation in all fields confirms the two countries’ keenness to develop all that they have in common and to confront all challenges.
