On May 30th, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Faisal Miqdad met with the Iranian President’s Assistant and Head of the Environmental Protection Organization Ali Seljuk and the accompanying delegation

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the depth of relations between the two countries in all political, economic and environmental fields.

Minister Miqdad stressed the importance of joint cooperation between the two countries to solve issues related to environmental problems and the need to work to reduce their negative effects, including dust storms.

Minister Miqdad pointed out that the Turkish regime’s colonial practices in the region cause great environmental and economic damage in Syria, Iraq, Iran and other countries

Minister Miqdad said that the Turkish regime’s attempts to establish a so-called “safe zone” in northern Syria and building random settlement colonies in the lands it occupies will lead to demographic and environmental changes

For his part, Seljuk expressed the depth of the brotherly relations between the two countries and the Iranian and Syrian peoples

Seljuk stressed that the road is long to reduce the problem of dust storms.

Seljuk pointed out that the environmental terrorism that Syria and the countries of the region are exposed to had a significant impact on the increase and expansion of this phenomenon
