Lecture on Chilean Philosophy at Damascus University

The Chargé d’ Affairs of the Chilean Embassy in Syria Patricio Brickle gave a lecture entitled “Philosophy in Chile in the work of Joaquín Barceló and Jorge Eduardo Rivera” at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the University of Damascus, on Thursday, May 26, 2022.

The lecture is part of the cycle of monthly cultural and academic activities that the Embassy of Chile in Syria has been carrying out since November 2021 and that started with the subject of the history of Chilean architecture, Mr. Brickle said in a special interview  with Syria Times.

These activities aim at enhancing the cultural and academic cooperation between Syria and Chile, clarified.

Last February, the Chilean philosopher Gustavo Cataldo gave a lecture in Damascus about philosophy in Chile and now Patricio Brickle takes up this theme focusing on two prominent Chilean philosophers of the 1950s.

Rivera and Barceló are two of the philosophers who will appear in an Anthology of Chilean Philosophers that Brickle is preparing to publish in Syria in the near future.
