Syrian-Russian talks in Moscow to discuss ways to confront Western economic sanctions

Moscow (ST): The joint Syrian-Russian governmental committee discussed in an official talks session held in Moscow strengthening bilateral cooperation  and ways to confront the unjust Western economic sanctions imposed on the peoples of the two countries.

 The two chairmen of the committee on the Syrian side, Minister of Presidential Affairs, Mansour Azzam, and on the Russian side, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, stressed on strengthening joint cooperation relations and finding the best possible ways to confront the unjust Western economic sanctions imposed on the peoples of the two countries by taking enhanced economic and mechanical measures aimed at empowering the Syrian economy to alleviate the difficulty of the stage the country is going through.

Azzam and Borisov indicated that cooperation and joint coordination with all friendly countries and forces will be enough to confront the sanctions and ensure the foundations of sustainable development for peoples who believe in their sovereignty and independence.

The meeting dealt with an assessment of the most important results that were reached in the context of the work of the joint committee, especially in terms of preparations made by the Planning and International Cooperation Commission in Syria and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation in preparation for the convening of the 13th session in Damascus soon, in addition to reviewing all the signed agreements between ministries and relevant authorities.
