New York (ST): The United Nations reiterated its adherence to the unity and integrity of the Syrian territories, declaring its rejection of the plans of the Turkish regime to launch an attack on part of the Syrian territory to establish a so-called “safe” area in northern Syria.
In response to a question about the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s threat to conduct a military operation at the Syrian border, Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, said: “We affirm our adherence to our position in defending the territorial integrity of Syria,” adding: “Syria does not need more military operations from any side, but what it needs is a political solution and more humanitarian aid. These are the two things that we are working on.”
