Study: 5,000 personality traits are linked to hand writing

Some 5,000 different personality traits can be explored based on the person’s handwriting, according to the research from the National Pen Company in the United States.

According to the study the behavioral profile can be determined based on the process of analyzing a person’s handwriting which is called graphology.

The recent study dubbed info graphic analyzes the way each person spaces letters and signs his or her name, and even the way of connecting the letter ‘o’ and ‘s’ to other letters in a word.

The research also says that even the size of people’s handwriting can demonstrate the type of personality they have.

“People with small handwriting tend to be shy, studious and meticulous, whereas outgoing people who love attention will have larger handwriting,” study suggests.

According to the graphic tests, the type of looping illustrated by the letters ‘l’ and ‘e’ can show a person’s nature, for example, wide loops represents someone who is relaxed as well as open minded.

Furthermore, people who write narrow loops are “skeptical of others and may restrict themselves from certain activities, which causes feelings of tension.”

The graphic tests can even depict an individual’s physiological and psychological functions and potential health problems such as schizophrenia and high blood pressure.

“Schizophrenics tend to have writing that switches direction in the way that it slants, between left and right, and this is supposedly a sign of a person not having continual contact with reality,”

The study researchers claim that the new way of graphology will help people understand their inner beings.
