International community’s silence encourages Israel to persist in its attacks on Syria

Spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Saeed Khatibzadeh has stressed that the repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territories constitute a blatant violation of all international laws and resolutions.

In a statement on Tuesday, Khatibzadeh said that the international community’s inaction and deadly silence over the Israeli acts of aggression, besides the continuous US support, have encouraged the Israeli entity to persist in its aggression, arrogance and violations of international resolutions and to maintain its occupation of the occupied Syrian Golan.

The ministry’s spokesman clarified that the Israeli warplanes are used as a tool to provide cover for the terrorist groups’ activities in Syria, especially in recent years.

“Whenever the Syrian army and its allies defeat the terrorist groups in certain Syrian areas, the Israeli planes intervene by carrying out attacks on Syrian territories,” Khatibzadeh said, noting the recent Israeli aggression on areas south of Damascus which claimed the lives of several people.

He reiterated the need to decisively and properly respond to these attacks both in the battlefield and in international forums.
