US Senator: Most Americans reject war against Russia

Washington (ST): Republican Senator Rand Paul asserted that most Americans reject war against Russia and support reducing US military participation in the Ukraine war.

In an article titled “Unconsciously Spending on Ukraine Threatens US National Security” and published in the American newspaper “The Federalist”, Paul said, “Congress recently approved providing more than $14 billion in aid to Ukraine. The administration has also nearly emptied our important arms depots. It is very expensive to support this country, and if the law on supplementary appropriations for Ukraine for 2022 is adopted in its current form, our total assistance to it will be approximately equal to Russia’s annual military spending.”

He added that the majority of Americans, especially veterans, who have seen before anyone else the dire consequences of endless wars and attempts at regime change, oppose war with Russia and support the idea of reducing US military involvement in the Ukraine war.

He pointed out that the United States spent nearly $ 5 trillion in response to the outbreak of the Coronavirus, which led to the occurrence of the highest levels of sustainable inflation in the country’s history during last March. Used by 35 percent, it is difficult to find an American consumer who did not feel the pain of the deteriorating economy caused by massive federal spending.

He concluded by saying, “Not only do we overlook financial ruin, but we also risk inadvertently going to war with another major power. US President Joe Biden’s call for regime change in Russia, along with the willingness of Congress to provide seemingly limitless assistance to Ukraine, has made us ignorant of what the ultimate goal of this adventure is.”
