Israeli occupation continues to implement its settlement building plans in the West Bank in collusion with the US administration

The Israeli occupation continues to expand settlement building operations in the occupied Palestinian territories in implementation of the occupation’s colonialist annexation schemes. This settlement expansion project has been carried out in collusion with the US administration that provides cover and protection from accountability to the Israeli occupation despite its continuous violations of the international law and international legitimacy resolutions.

In its report published on Saturday, the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) National Bureau for Defending the Land and Resisting Settlements said that the Israeli occupation’s latest settlement expansion plan to build 4,000 settlement units in the West Bank came after consultations with the American Administration, as the Israeli “Yedioth Ahronoth” Newspaper revealed. The newspaper clarified that the occupation was intending to announce a plan to build 6,000 settlement units, but after consultations it reduced the number of settlement units to 4,000.

The report also said that the occupation authorities announced a plan to expand a settlement already built on the land of the towns of Lefta Al-Fouqa and Deir Yaseen in occupied Al-Quds. They also announced another plan to build 1934 new settlement units to expand two settlements already built on the land of Jabal Al-Masharef area and the towns of Sour Baher and Tobas in Al-Quds.

According to the report, the occupation plans to build railways and settlement roads between the settlements that were established west of Al-Quds and those established east of the city.

The report went on to say that over the past week, the occupation forces set up a settlement road, north of the village of Wadi Fokin in Bethlehem and placed barbed wires on the two sides of the road to prevent the Palestinians from passing through it. The occupation also razed 22 dunums of land in the towns of Al-Jab’a and Sourif in Al-Quds with the aim of connecting two settlements built on their lands to each others, the report added.

It pointed out that, the occupation also demolished a commercial facilities in Jabal al-Mukaber town, a building in Silwan, two houses in the towns of Al-Issawiyah and Hanina and several houses and agricultural facilities in some villages in the West Bank cities of Al-Khalil, Tobas and Nablus.

Moreover, the Israeli settlers continued with their attacks on the West Bank cities and towns. They stormed into the town of Silwan and Al-Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood as well as the towns of Bourin, Douma, Baraqa, Furush Beit Dajan and Beita in Nablus and attacked the Palestinians and their properties. The settlers also cut down 20 olive trees and burned a garage in the town of Beit Amer in Al-Khalil and uprooted dozens of fruit trees in the towns of Kherbet Sussiya and Kafr Al-Deek in Salfit city.
