Prime Minister Hussein Arnous on Saturday visited the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Damascus to offer condolences on the death of the late UAE President, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
“On behalf of the Syrian government and on my own behalf, I offer deepest condolences to the government and people of the United Arab Emirates on the death of the late leader, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, May God have mercy on his soul”, the prime minister wrote in the condolences book.
He added that the late leader, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan will remain in the hearts of the people of the UAE and the peoples of the Arab world because of his noble deeds, noting the historically distinguished relations between the brotherly peoples of Syria and the UAE.
Ministers of foreign affairs and expatriates, local administration and environment, education and justice also offered their condolences alongside the prime minister.
Later in the day, several People’s Assembly members, dignitaries of Syrian clans as well as popular delegations, religious figures, businessmen and head of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) offered their condolences on the death of Skeikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, late president of the United Arab Emirate, at the Embassy of the UAE in Damascus.
Several Ambassadors as well as representatives of the embassies of some Arab and foreign countries in Syria also visited the UAE’s embassy to offer condolences.
The delegations were received by the Charge de Affairs of the UAE’s Embassy in Damascus Sultan Muhammad Al-Shehhi.
