The celebration of International Dance Day reaches its last stop with the Open Doors event

The celebrations launched by the Directorate of Theaters and Music in the Ministry of Culture on International Dance Day reached their last stop with the Open Doors demonstration that included different dance styles from different countries of the world.

The event, which was hosted by the Saadallah Wannous Hall at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, began with the invitation of its supervisor, artist and choreographer Moataz Malatiyeh, to attend the dance, where the students and the audience participated in performing expressive movements.

The program of the ceremony was initiated with a dance board at the institute presented by the third year students. The dance was designed by Rahaf Al-Jaber and performed by students in the Acting Department.

A graduate of the dance department at the institute, read the International Dance Day speech that Korean ballerina “Kang Soojin” wrote this year, in which she pointed out that the Corona pandemic has greatly affected public life and because of it, international dance performances are still subject to many restrictions.

Among the participants in the celebration, graduate Rahaf Al-Jaber said that the International Dance Day is a celebration for all dancers in the world, and it is an invitation to everyone to celebrate this day because the essence of dance is available to all people of different genders and ages, and they perform it all over the world in various ways.

In turn, coach Virginia Al-Hassan saw in a similar statement that the importance of this day lies in strengthening the presence of dancers in the cultural scene, especially in difficult circumstances we are going through, noting that dance is an art that stems from the pain that we experience and from what we feel through different movements and forms.

The Open Doors event concluded its first day by presenting various dance structures in which all students participated as a kind of expression of joy and hope.
