Hungary: We will not send or allow the transfer of arms to Ukraine through our territory

On May 12th, Hungary reiterated that it will not send or allow the passage of arms to Ukraine through its territory, indicating its readiness to host peace talks to resolve the Ukrainian crisis with the participation of Russia.

“We have working relations with Russia and since the beginning of the war, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban had a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on his own initiative and suggested that Budapest be the venue for any peace talks,” Hungarian Foreign Minister Petr Szijjarto told País newspaper.

Szijjarto stressed that his country does not want the Hungarian-Ukrainian border to become a transit point for weapons, nor will it send or allow the passage of weapons through its territory.
