Russian security thwarted a terrorist plot that a resident of the Kursk region was preparing to carry out through bombings in the Kursk region in cooperation with Ukrainian parties.
The information office of the Russian Federal Security Agency said in a statement today that “a resident of the Kursk region was arrested, who, in agreement with special services in Ukraine, intended to carry out explosions at infrastructure facilities while there were large gatherings of the population with the aim of destabilizing and obstructing the activities of vital bodies and thus putting pressure on the authorities and influencing its decision on a special military operation to protect the residents of Donbass.”
The statement indicated that two explosive devices, a firearm and ammunition were confiscated, in addition to Nazi publications, materials and other documents confirming the suspect’s involvement in illegal activities.
The statement pointed out that the detainee admitted his plans and that he intended to leave for Ukraine after their implementation.
