Khalil discusses with Maurer the reality of relief and humanitarian work in Hasakah Governorate

Hasakah, (ST) – During his meeting with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Peter Maurer, the Governor of HasakahGhassan Khalil, affirmed the governorate’s readiness to provide all the necessary facilities to carry out the work of the Committee in the relief and humanitarian fields. “These necessary facilities contribute to improving the conditions of citizens in the governorate,” the Governor of Hasakah added.

Khalil indicated that the province suffers continuously as a result of the illegal presence of the American and Turkish occupiers in the region and the violations practiced by the militias against the people of the province, buildings and official headquarters in a way that created difficulty in providing optimal service to citizens.

The Governor of Hasakah pointed out that the majority of schools are out of the educational process due to the SDF taking them over and depriving thousands of students of education after the US occupation aircraft destroyed a number of official headquarters of the Euphrates University buildings and a number of citizens’ homes under the pretext of pursuing fugitives from the Industrial High School Prison.

On the health side, Khalil stated that most government hospitals that used to provide medical and treatment services to citizens free of charge are now out of service due to the SDF taking over them and depriving thousands of citizens of their services.

The governor called for stopping the violations of the Turkish occupier and neutralizing the Allouk Water Station, especially since it is the only source of drinking water. He added that the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation deliberately attack this station and steal the electricity designated for its operation, as well as steal water to irrigate agricultural lands and livestock and deprive a million citizens of water.
