Syria takes part in Tehran International Book Fair

Activities of the 33rd Tehran International Book Fair kicked off on Wednesday with the participation of publishers from Iran and other countries, including Syria.

The fair, which will last for 11 days, was opened Tuesday evening in the presence of the Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mahdi Esmaili.

During the opening ceremony, Deputy Yasser Ahmadvand, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, said that 2800 publishers are taking part in the event, 1700 of them will exhibit their books within the fair’s stands, while 1100 others will participate virtually.

 According to Ahmadvand, 170 publishers from 30 foreign countries are participating in the fair and 50 foreign guests were invited to visit the event.

Spokesman of the Book Fair Ali Ramadani said that 32 countries will participate in the foreign publishers’ section and the international section.

Guests and friendship societies from different countries, including Syria, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, Mexico, Serbia, Switzerland, India, Hong Kong, Italy, France, China, South Korea, Britain, the Netherlands, Australia, America and Germany will attend fair’s activities.
