In honor of the martyrs and on the occasion of the sixth of May, Damascus Countryside Governorate honored 54 families of the civilian martyrs in the governorate during a ceremony held in the educational complex in the suburb of Qudsaya.
The celebration included a group of artistic paragraphs, folk dances and a play that expressed the importance of the heroism of the Syrian Arab Army and their sacrifices for the sake of the homeland. The paragraphs were presented by the pioneers of the Baath Vanguards Organization, Damascus Countryside Branch.
Families of the martyrs expressed that martyrdom is a greater and nobler sacrifice for the homeland than any work, and the martyrdom of their sons is a pride for them. This honor is an affirmation of the importance of martyrdom and loyalty to the martyrs who sacrificed their pure souls for the homeland and for its children to enjoy peace and tranquility. The families further expressed that the homeland deserves all sacrifice in order to remain proud and strong.
The Governor of Damascus Countryside, Engineer Moataz Abu Al-Nasr Jamran, indicated in a speech during the ceremony that everything that the governorate does will not fulfill what the martyrs are entitled to.
Director of the Martyrs’ Affairs Office in Damascus Countryside Governorate, Engineer Ahmed Kanaan, explained that the governorate is keen to honor the families of the military and civilian martyrs, and it is continuing to honor all families according to the number sequence, providing all their needs, following up and taking care of them.
The honoring was attended by Sobhi Abbas, a member of the People’s Assembly, a member of the leadership of the Damascus countryside branch of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party, Dr. Hamed Abu Khlaif, the deputy governor, Dr. Youssef Hammoud, the Secretary of the Vanguards of the Baath Organization branch in Damascus countryside, Asaad Hammoud, a number of members of the executive office in the governorate, the director of rural education Maher Faraj, and a number of officers of the Syrian Arab Army.
