Dubai, (ST) – With the participation of Syria, the activities of the Arabian Travel Market ATM 2022 exhibition, which is held in cooperation with the World Trade Center in Dubai, were launched on Monday in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The Syrian pavilion includes several participations for international hotels, travel and tourism offices, the Syrian Company for Transport and Tourism, and some private companies, in addition to the Cham Wings flight.
In a statement to a SANA reporter, the Assistant Minister of Tourism, Eng. Ghiath Al-Farrah, said that the exhibition is one of the most important pillars in the Arab Travel Market. He added that the Syria has participated three times so far in the exhibition, which started in 2019 and stopped in 2021 due to the Corona pandemic.
Al-Farrah indicated that it is hoped that Syria will return to take its role in the Arab arena in the field of tourism after the recovery of the tourism sector in Syria. ‘‘This matter will happen during the exhibition, agreements will be signed with tourism and travel offices to bring in tourists to and from Syria,’’ he added
Al-Farrah expressed the hope that there will be tourists from various participating countries, especially after putting many Syrian tourist facilities into service,
Al-Farrah confirmed that the ministry will participate in many exhibitions and upcoming events and Syria will return to its active role in tourism as it was before the war.
In turn, Osama Satea’a, the Director of Development and Public Relations in Cham Wings” , which is participating in the exhibition, confirmed in a similar statement that the company’s participation comes due to the importance of the Arab travel and tourism market in general and the United Arab Emirates market in particular.
Osama Satea’a said that, the airlines play an important role as a vital artery supporting the economies of countries by attracting tourists, visitors and travelers coming for various purposes.
For his part, the Head of the Federation of Chambers of Tourism, Talal Khudair, indicated that the Federation is a strategic partner of the Ministry of Tourism in contributing to the promotion of Syrian civilization, especially that Syria possesses all the tourism potentials.
Meanwhile, the Director of Promotion at the Ministry of Tourism, Ruba Sassileh, indicated that the participation aims to promote cultural and environmental tourism, in addition to promoting religious and natural tourism and everything beautiful in Syria.
For his part, the Secretary of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce Waseem Qattan indicated that the chambers’ goal is the same, especially after the return of the tourism sector to its strength, which is joint work and cooperation in promoting Syria’s civilized image that was absent during the years of the terrorist war against it.
It is noteworthy that the exhibition, which will continue until the 12th of this month, will be attended by about 1,500 tourism companies and institutions in the world.
