The World Peace Council condemns the coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people

Havana (ST): The World Peace Council condemned the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people, reiterating its support for Syria’s efforts to combat terrorism.

This came during the seventh international symposium of the World Peace Council, which was held in the Cuban province of Guantanamo, in which Syria and more than 35 countries participated, under the title (the abolition of foreign military bases).

The head of the Foreign Relations Office of the National Union of Syrian Students, Ali Barakat, and the director of the Secretariat’s office in the union, Ashraf Fadel, explained that the Syrian participation comes within the framework of supporting the efforts of the Cuban friends to restore their lands and protect their independence, stressing Syria’s support for the efforts of the World Peace Council to build sustainable peace in all parts of the world.

They pointed out that the presence of the US occupation forces on Syrian territory constitutes a violation of United Nations and Security Council resolutions that affirm Syria’s unity and respect its independence.

The participants expressed their support for Syria in its war against terrorism, referring to the steadfastness and resistance of the Syrian people and its valiant army, and the victories it achieved in its war on terrorism.
