Military leaders: Martyrs are a beacon for generations

The Syrian Armed Forces on Friday commemorated Martyrs’ Day.

Marking this occasion, leaders of army units and formations made speeches stressing that the martyrs are a source of dignity and glory. They are a symbol of patriotism and their sacrifices will be a beacon for the coming generation to continue their struggle to preserve the homeland’s sovereignty and independence.

They pledged loyalty to the sacrifices of the martyrs who defended the homeland against occupiers and aggressors.

The military leaders visited the martyrs’ monuments and laid wreathes on behalf of President Bashar Al-Assad, the Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces.

They also visited the wounded army personnel at the military hospitals and wished them seedy recovery. They hailed the sacrifices offered by the wounded and expressed their pride in their heroic deeds in defense of the homeland.

Moreover, the Schools of Martyrs’ Sons and Daughters also commemorated this occasion by holding artistic and theatrical performances that highlighted the great value and sublime meaning of martyrdom.
