Provinces (ST): On the occasion of Martyrs’ Day, official and popular personalities today visited a number of martyrs’ cemeteries in the governorates, laid wreaths on their shrines, and recited Al-Fatihah for their pure souls. The curtain was also unveiled on the memorial to the martyrs of Al-Kindi Hospital at the southern entrance to the city of Sheikh Badr in Tartous.
During a visit to Al-Dahdah cemetery in Damascus, the Governor of Damascus, Engineer Adel Al-Olabi, said in a press statement: “The Martyrs’ Day is the most sacred occasion to commemorate those who gave their most precious possessions for the sake of the homeland and wrote the greatest and brightest pages of sacrifice and redemption with their blood.”
At the cemetery of the martyrs in Najha in the Damascus Countryside, the governor of Damascus countryside, Engineer Moataz Abu Al-Nasr Jamran, confirmed that the Syrian people continue to walk on the path of the martyrs, the torches of light that illuminated the path of the homeland.
In front of the memorial to the Unknown Soldier in the city of Hama, the Governor of Hama, Engineer Muhammad Tariq Krishati, said, “The martyrs are the role model and the torch with which we guide and illuminate the path of struggle, and thanks to their blood, Syria has won over terrorism.”
In Tartous, the memorial to the martyrs of Al-Kindi Hospital in Sheikh Badr was unveiled, with the participation of civil, official and religious personas , where Al-Fatihah was read for the souls of the martyrs and a minute of silence was observed, with poetic passages talking about martyrdom and the martyrs.
