Belarus announces raising the state of maximum alert in the ranks of its army

Minsk (ST): The Belarusian Ministry of Defense announced raising the state of high alert and sudden testing in the ranks of its army throughout the country.

Sputnik news agency quoted the ministry as saying in an official statement: “The process of sudden testing and examination of the Belarusian military forces has begun, as military units in all the country and in all its branches will have to prepare  for combat training missions.”

In its statement, the ministry explained that the purpose of the review is to assess the extent of the military’s readiness and ability to respond quickly to the possibility of crises, stressing that the various military units operate in difficult and complex terrain areas for the military forces.
