On May 1st, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Crimea for information policy Oleg Kryuchkov announced that the Ukrainian authorities have cut off all types of communications in the Kherson region in southern Ukraine.
“Ukraine has separated the Kherson region from mobile communications and the Internet, has given up these lands and will from today stop paying pensions and financial aid, as well as fulfilling its banking obligations,” Kryuchkov was quoted as saying by the Russian RIA Novosti news agency.
Kryuchkov described this behavior as sabotage that will accelerate the integration of the liberated areas in southern Ukraine with Russia.
During its special military operation in Ukraine, the Russian army took control of the entire Kherson region in the south of the country and part of the Zaporozhye region close to the Sea of Azov.
