Ambassadors of Syria, Iran, Iraq and Palestine in Russia stress the necessity of solidarity with Palestinian people

MOSCOW, April.28, (ST)- The ambassadors of Syria, Iraq, Palestine and Iran in Russia  have stressed the importance of solidarity with the Palestinian people in their long struggle for restoring their legitimate rights to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

The ambassadors’ remarks came during a press conference held on Thursday in Moscow on the occasion of the International Al-Quds Day.

Riyad Haddad, Syria’s ambassador to Russia, said in the press conference: “This day is a reminder of the central issue that we set as a compass for us to assert that we stand on the right side of history….Resistance fighters  always struggle to restore the rights of the oppressed Palestinian people and to defend the holy shrines of the Islamic and Christian nation alike.”

“Al-Quds Day this year comes amid exceptional circumstances at the Palestinian and international levels, where the attacks of the Zionist occupation against the holy shrines of the Palestinian people are escalating and the most horrific forms of oppression, torture and aggression are being practiced against defenseless Palestinians,” he added.

The Syrian ambassador indicated that the Zionist occupation disregards all moral values and international laws, as usual, relying on unlimited support from Western countries, led by the United States, which pays lip service to defending human rights and spreading democracy while it is supporting terrorism.

He praised the steadfast resistance in the face of this occupation and those who support it.

Haddad pointed out that our world today is going through important changes at the international level as a result of the courageous decision adopted by the Russian Federation to defend the oppressed people of Donbass, who for years have resisted terrorism whose methods are no different from tgat of the terrorism of the Zionist enemy or the terrorism of armed groups that have wreaked havoc in Syria.

“Because of all these reasons, Syria was one of the first countries that supported Russia in its military operation,” the Syrian ambassador added, indicating that Syria believes that this operation is in the interest of nations and resistance peoples in the region.

For his part, the Ambassador of the Palestinian State Abdel Hafeez Nofal stressed that Palestine was and will remain the central Arab issue, referring to the Israeli enemy’s rejection of all international resolutions that provide for the need of reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause.

The Iraqi ambassador in Moscow Abdul Rahman Muhammad Al-Husseini reiterated his country’s firm stance towards the Palestinian cause, which is always expressed in various international forums.

He called for standing by the Palestinian people in achieving their aspirations in their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Iran’s Ambassador Kazem Jalali said that the crimes committed by the Zionist enemy against the Palestinians flagrantly violate the international humanitarian principles and laws, stressing that the Palestinian people, like all peoples of the world, have the right to self-determination and the right to protect themselves from the oppression, aggression and Israeli domination.

The Deputy Chairman of the Council of Muftis in Russia Sheikh Roshan Abbasov drew attention to what we are witnessing in these days of the month of Ramadan regarding the Israeli attacks on the Palestinian people, especially in the city of Al-Quds, where they are exposed daily to torture and persecution in flagrant violation of laws, charters, and humanitarian and international norms.
