Putin: We will respond forcefully to anyone who tries to threaten our security

Moscow, (ST) – Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that the start of the special military operation in Ukraine spared Russia a real danger that was facing it. He stressed that his country would respond forcefully to anyone who tried to interfere in the events in Ukraine and threaten Russia’s security.

In a speech at a session of the Council of Legislators of the Russian Federal Assembly held in St. Petersburg, Putin indicated that the West has turned neighboring Ukraine into an enemy country for Russia and that external forces have pushed Kiev into direct confrontation with Moscow. He warned that any external party that tries to interfere in the Ukrainian events will lead to  Russia  responding forcefully using means that none of its opponents yet possesses.

Putin said that, Russia’s opponents in the world simply do not need a big country like it, describing the West’s bet on the anti-Russian and neo-Nazis as a new geopolitical weapon.

He pointed out that, the West was seeking to divide Russia, but it did not achieve its goals and did not admit its failure

Putin added that the West also failed to achieve its plans through imposing sanctions, but it also failed to reiterate that all the goals of the special military operation in Ukraine will be achieved and that this operation will ensure the security of Donbass and the Russian Crimea and all of Russia in the future.
