The Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue congratulates the Syrian people on the blessed Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr
On April 25th, the Papal Embassy of the Holy See of the Vatican State in Damascus congratulated the Syrian people on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan and the approaching happy Eid al-Fitr.
In a message entitled “Christians and Muslims… Sharing in Joys and Sorrows,” the President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, Cardinal Miguel ÁngelIúzo Guigsot, offered his best wishes and hearty congratulations to Muslims that peace and joy would prevail on this occasion as a sign of common humanity and the resulting brotherhood, and praying that Make it a blessed Eid full of goodness and blessings for the Syrian people.
The Cardinal pointed out that poverty, the precarious conditions in which many people found themselves due to job losses, and the economic and social problems related to the Corona pandemic make our duty to participate in your sorrows even more urgent.
The President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue concluded his message by emphasizing the importance of rapprochement and solidarity with friends in times of crisis and sadness rather than in times of joy and peace.
He said: “ We hope, dear Muslim brothers and sisters, that we will continue to share your joys and sorrows with all our neighbors and friends, because God’s love includes all humanity and the entire universe .”
