“Eid Al Fitr” bazaar

Eid al-Fitr is an Islamic feast which falls  on the first day of the month of Shawwal, in which Muslims break their fast and celebrate by completing their worship  and  fasting for the month of Ramadan.

Al Eid  bazaar “feast” recently concluded at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus. The bazaar, which lasted for three days, included clothes, traditional handicrafts, embroideries, in addition to paintings drawn on glass, cosmetics handbags , shoes ,many types of sweets and various foods according to Nancy Ajlani the organizer of the bazaar.

She said: “The bazaar included products made by creative young women with the participation of many charitable associations”.

Yaser Ismail, a craftsman, participated in the bazaar by displaying oriental embroideries  as embroideries on carpets, boxes, curtains…

 “Oriental embroidery is an ancient Damascene craft. The aim of my participation is to market our products, to familiarize  people with this craft ” he said.

Silda  Yahia  Al- Hussein, a young participant , is also a painter. Silda showed a collection of handmade scented candles

She aims with  her second participation in this event to make people acquainted with her works .

In her part, Dana saw that through the bazaar,  she was able to communicate directly with people and see how  they prefer  her accessories products to be.The bazaar was also  a good place for her to display her accessories.

Hiba Kahwaji, the director of Al Aman Charitable Development association told Syria Times that the association is concerned in psychosocial support and treatment through courses, workshops and other activities, in addition to charitable works”.

“We displayed accessories and  children’s clothes which are made by women who were trained in the association to support themselves and their families and the revenue of this work will go to the association”.

Hanadi Kawhaji, showed handmade bed covers, pillows, paintings, and specialized oriental products for the bride which were inspired from our heritage.
