US prepares provocations to accuse Russia of using tactical nuclear weapons

The United States is preparing provocations to accuse the Russian side of using chemical, biological, or tactical nuclear weapons, Chief of Russian Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Protection Force Igor Kirillov announced on Saturday.

“The Russian Ministry of Defense has information about the United States preparing provocations to accuse the Russian Armed Forces of using chemical, biological, or tactical nuclear weapons,” he said.

According to Kirillov, the plan is a reaction to Russia’s success in the special operation. “In March-April of this year alone, the leadership of Western countries regularly made provocative statements about the possibility of Russia using weapons of mass destruction,” he said.

He clarified that the United States plans to use three scenarios to accuse Russia of using chemical, biological, or tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine.

“The scenarios for accusing Russia are planned. The first is a ‘staged incident under a false flag’, the most probable one. The second is ‘a covert use of mass destruction weapons in small volumes’ to suppress the will and ability to resist within a specific operational task. The third, and the least likely scenario, is ‘an overt use of mass destruction weapons on the battlefield’ in case conventional weapons fail to succeed, most likely in a combat zone,” he said.

According to Kirillov, the first scenario includes real use of chemical and biological weapons with casualties among the population, or a staged sabotage by Russia at Ukrainian facilities involved in developing components for mass destruction weapons. This scenario is planned to be used at chemical and biological facilities in Kharkov and Kiev. Provocations cannot be ruled out at nuclear power facilities, primarily at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, which is under Russia’s control.

In addition, the Ukrainian leadership is seriously considering attacking the storage of radioactive waste at Pridnestrovsky Chemical Plant in the settlement of Kamenskoye in the Dnepropetrovsk region, Kirillov said. The Ministry of Defense has a document confirming the critical state of the storages and the misappropriation of funds allocated by the European Union for the facility’s maintenance.

The second scenario – secretive use of mass destruction weapons in small volumes – was considered at the Azovstal steel plant. But the order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief canceled the assault on the enterprise and threw a wrench into Pentagon’s plans, he added. The third, and the least likely scenario – overt use of weapons of mass destruction on the battlefield – is being considered for Slavyansk and Kramatorsk.

He also added that at the beginning of 2022 Ukraine purchased more than 50 devices for spraying various substances, including chemicals, from drones. According to Kirillov, on March 9, Russian intelligence found three drones equipped with 30-liter containers and equipment for spraying on the territory of the Kherson region.
