Beijing: Washington must watch its behavior before accusing others

Spokesman of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Zhao Lijian has criticized Washington’s continuous attempts to create lies to defame China, urging the United States watch its behavior and manage its own affairs correctly before accusing others. 

Beijing’s stance came in response to remarks made by the US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman in which he said that China has to learn the right lessons from the situation in Ukraine, including the inability to separate the United States from its allies.

“We advise the United States to look into the mirror and mind its own affairs rightly before it accuses others,” the spokesman said, adding that China’s position on the Ukrainian issue is clear, open, just and objective and that the United States is the party which has a bad record concerning relevant issues.

 He described Sherman’s remarks as an old trick that aims at defaming and harming China,” stressing that facts have proven that China has contributed to establishing global peace and achieving development and it has defended the international order.

China: U.S. failed to provide convincing explanation for its bio-military activities in Ukraine

Yesterday, Lijian said that the United States should give comprehensive and detailed clarification of its bio-military activities, and end its solitary stance of opposing the establishment of a multilateral verification mechanism for biological weapons.

Lijian made the remarks at a daily press briefing in response to a media question on Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova’s recent reiteration of Russia’s discovery of certain documents and information on the bio-military plan implemented in Ukraine by the U.S. Department of Defense. The Russian side has disclosed related facts to the United Nations and other international organizations, demanding detailed explanations from the U.S. side, said one reporter, according to Xinhua News Agency.

Zhao replied that the United States has so far failed to provide a convincing explanation for its bio-military activities, adding that there were ambiguities and even contradictions in the U.S. statements so far, which further aggravates the concerns of the international community.
